THIS YEAR CHICAGO AND NEW YORK JOIN MUSIC BRIDGE WITH WROCLAW W TYM ROKU CHICAGO I NOWY YORK PRZYLACZAJA SIE DO MOSTU MUZYCZNEGO Leszek Cichonski's dream and idea was always to bring together people from all over the world. Last year inspired by the song "My Plan" by Detroit based Polish rapper D-UNDERDOG they started working together. Song Wroclaw and Rock & Roll has been a music fruit of their labor. Since then many people have been inspired. This year we welcome Chicago and New York as a part of "Their Plan". Leszek and Rafal's plan and vision is becoming a realilty. CHICAGO 2009 Officialy Chicago Event took place April 30th Club Martini at 7:00 p.m.. Musicians from many popular bands came united to support "Thanks Jimi" Festiwal. Popular newspaper Gazeta Polska and Nowy Dziennik confirmed their participation in the event. The entire event was quite a new experience for everyone involved. People of different cultures and nationalities came together to celebrate this annual event. Thank You very much for everyone involved to come together and have a good time. WROCLAW 2009 Legendary British band Deep Purple will perform in Wroclaw 2009. Authors of "Smoke on the Water" will be stars of this year Thanks Jimi Festival and guitar player Steve Morse will take part of breaking Guiness Guitar Record. As always, this event will be lead by Leszek Cichonski. Among other there will be Marek Radula, Sebastian Riedel and band Cree, Mietek Jurecki, Andrzej Malcherek, Radek Chwieralski, Todd Wolfe - guitar player for Sheryl Crow. WHAT IS THANKS JIMI FESTIVAL? The "Thanks Jimi Festival" * 1951 guitars* played Jimi Hendrix's blues-rock hit 'Hey Joe' and other songs at the Old Town Square in Wroclaw, Poland, on the 1st of may 2008. This event sets a new Guinness' World Record for the largest number of guitars simultaneously playing the same song. This was the sixth attempt: last year 1881 guitars participated in the event witch was the best score in the World. :Festiwal Thanks Jimi 1951 gitarzystów zagrało 1 maja 2008r. na wrocławskim Rynku znany temat blues-rockowy 'Hey Joe' Jimiego Hendrixa, bijac tym samym swiatowy rekord Guinnessa we wspólnej grze na gitarach. Zostal on zorganizowany i rozpoczatey poprzez Leszka Cichonskiego, respektowanego muzyka z Wroclawia. Była to już szósta próba - rok temu zjawiło się na imprezie 1881 gitarzystów , wyprzedzajac tym wynikiem między innymi Kansas City i Stuttgart. Come April 25-th, 2008 to American-Polish Cultural Center and be part of this first in Detroit event. Everyone is welcomed.
